The Picture of Togetherness
From September to October, all 9th grade students of Santa Maria Middle School carried out the Saint Mary's Ways assignment. On Friday in September, the entire class was divided into several groups. I was one of several people who went to visit a nursing home , where many elderly people lived. At that time, we went to carry out the Saint Mary's Ways assignment, there were 16 of us, because some were absent during the implementation. There, I was in charge of documenting the presentation material on Friday. A few days before leaving for the nursing home, we made a plan in advance at school, we discussed what activities would be carried out there, the funds needed to purchase goods and consumption, and we also divided the tasks so that no one was unemployed and so that everyone in the group got good grades.
Upon arriving at the nursing home, we gathered first beside the church while waiting for those who had not yet arrived. After everyone arrived, we entered the nursing home and were warmly welcomed. Once inside, I was asked to try pushing a wheelchair up to the nursing home hall. I pushed the wheelchair with Krisna. Honestly, the first time I tried it, it felt heavy, but luckily I managed to push it all the way to the hall. The event began, we got to know the grandmothers there, the grandmothers had unique talents such as a
Chinese grandmother who could sing Chinese songs, and another grandmother who could play the harmonica. After that, we continued playing games, while they played, I walked around to document the activities we did there. After playing, we sang together. In the middle of the event, some of our friends left for a basketball game, one of whom was the MC for this event, so we had no choice but to change the MC. After that, we also listened to stories from the grandmothers who were present there, there were many unique stories told there, there was even a grandmother who came from Serbia, and after listening to their stories, they gave us advice from their past experience and we tell everyone what's the advice they told us infornt of everybody. after that we had lunch, but their provisions had not yet arrived, so we continued playing. After lunch was ready, Grandma ate, enjoying bread and fruit, and we ate bread filled with chocolate.
